Again, the answer is, “me.” My dad and I picked up an installed our new countertop yesterday. It was on order last month, but wasn’t going to arrive quickly enough for when we listed the house and left town. So we left a swatch on a small board and said, “new blah blah to be installed on blah blah!” And since the people who are buying made such a loooovely offer, I was certainly going to follow through.

So yeah, 142-5/8" long piece had to be custom ordered, but it only overhung my downed tailgate by 42" (all glory to the Longbed!). It’s just formica with a no-drip radius, but it replaced our pink top (also formica) which we suspected was at least 23 years old, based on old paperwork we found referring a kitchen remodel in 1985, plus visible wear that would take decades to achieve.

Oooh ahhh the colors, children! The colors! Gotta do some caulking and touch-up paint, and that’s it. At least the new folks will have something tolerable to look at, before — I assume — they gut the entire kitchen with a remodel of their own.

Very nice! We just finished ours, only a few little touches left like cabinet handles and some tiling. No before pictures but it was baaaaad. Ugly 80's pressboard cabinets that had been brush-painted brown and were falling off their hinges. Countertop was a beige version of your pink one. Everything to the left of the dish drainer was an in-wall oven and cabinet so we really had no counterspace.

I actually transported 2 of those in a BRZ. For an L shaped kitchen though, so those two combined were probably hardly any longer than your one. I didn’t measure it but I believe it had 4 kitchen closets on either side. Anyway, it was transported in the BRZ with the hatch closed (!), resting on the dash.

So, about needing that truck ;)

The kitchen has been done by my cousin in his spare time so it’s been a month and a half of takeout and TV dinners. The propane guy is coming to hook up the stove tomorrow. I’m so excited for real food!

That cabinet I refurbished is on the other side of the kitchen and holds the microwave and stuff.

I love that pot holder/hanger / shelf you have there, that’s perfect! Our new kitchen is better than our old one in every way, except that. We have a big giant drawer for our pans and it’s... not as good as a hanger. But we had the cabinet space and not the wall space.

Looks good overall!

The potholder is awesome. It fills a blank wall we had where there used to be a door and can hold a million pounds. It’s slotted so you can place lids on the top, and the hooks can slide and swivel to hold anything.

I like the lid holder part, too. Man, it’s so under-rated to be able to reach any pot without moving any other. You can also hang them up while they’re still a little wet instead of taking up 1/2 of the dish drainer with one pan. Yeah, you can just lay out a towel; I end up putting them on the stove temporarily...

Huh, that’s our countertop.

Ours is over dark/reddish wood cupboards though.
